We recently went to the Junkyard Cafe, and will be sharing our experience with you all in this post.
The junkyard cafe is located at Connaught Place, Saket and Rajouri Garden in Delhi. It is known for it’s blasting music and junk-inspired ambience.
The Junkyard Cafe has a Junk-Inspired ambience, thus giving it a mechanical vintage look with all the wheels and junk machinery parts. It is the perfect place for the theme restaurant lovers and for a post-office hangout, also the music is what you’ll fall for head over heels.
What we loved:
Falafel with Hummus and Pita: This dish costs INR 395, and is the one you shouldn’t miss if you happen to visit Junkyard. It has a subtle taste of the seasame seeds in the shape of a traditional Indian Vada made out of Pita Bread, served with hummus spread. The spice quotient is not too high and that’s why the original flavour tastes even better.
Wasabi peas Aloo Tikki: This dish costs INR 375, and is for the desi tastebuds. The tikki, made of aloo and wasabi peas, is served with Wasabi Mayo and will remind you of the street aloo tikki you loved as a kid. It is a must-go for all the desi food lovers.
Grilled Chicken Breast with Couscous: For all the chicken lovers, this dish is bliss. It costs INR 575 and is worth every penny. We had it with tomato sauce and sticky rice, you can go for the black pepper combination if you love the traditional grilled pepper chicken.
Kadhai Paneer: Hands down the best Paneer we’ve ever had! This dish doesn’t give you a hint of the same boring paneer taste you are tired of having. It costs INR 495 and we had it with Butter naan. Adding to it’s essence was the old school vinegar onion.
Homemade Rabri with spiced jaggery: . This dessert is an Indian household name, and is perfectly sweet with the milky taste it has. It costs INR 425 and the twist it has is the jaggery garnishing. Ending your meal with a warm homely feeling is amazing, ain’t it.
Meal for two (approx): INR 1600
Best choice: Kadhai Paneer, Homemade Rabri with spiced Jaggery.
